Canciones que nos emocionan: Another Ones Bites the Dust, Queen

The Game, Queen

     Seguramente no sea el mejor tema de Queen, pero es un tema que cada vez que lo escucho me pone las pilas, un tema que cada vez que lo escucho me incita a moverme con una energía inusitada como si no hubiera un mañana. Estoy hablando del tema Another Ones Bites the Dust, uno de los temas más exitosos de Queen, no en vano fue capaz de vender más de siete millones de copias en todo el mundo.

     Another Ones Bites the Dust fue escrito por el bajista John Deacon, un tema donde el grupo coquetea con el sonido funk y el disco. Para la composición del tema en cuestión Deacon se basó en el tema Good Times del grupo Chic.

     Curiosamente John Deacon tocó casi todos los instrumentos para la grabación de la canción, guitarra principal y guitarra rítmica, bajo, piano y elementos de percusión, Brian May aportó los efectos de guitarra con los pedales y Roger Taylor tocó el loop de batería.

     El tema no iba a ser incluido en el disco The Game pues el grupo no estaba muy convencido de que el tema pudiera tener éxito, pero al final cambiaron de idea el día que coincidieron en un concierto con Michael Jackson y este al conocer de la existencia del tema les dijo que estaban locos si no lo incluían. De hecho el tema al final fue escrito para ser cantado junto con Michael Jackson, pero no al final no pudo materializarse por problemas de agenda y de tiempo. El caso es que acabaron escuchando el consejo de Michael lo que les supuso alcanzar el puesto número uno en las listas americanas con este tema.

     Otra curiosidad que tiene este tema, Silvester Stallone utilizó esta canción durante el rodaje de la película Rocky III para la famosa escena donde se encuentra entrenando para la pelea contra Mr. T, pero al final no consiguió contar con el permiso para usar este tema, por lo que acabó contratando los servicios de Survivor los cuales compusieron para la película el famoso tema Eye of Tiger.

     Un tema no exento de polémica, pues los grupos fundamentalistas cristianos acusaron en su momento al grupo, pues creían que el tema escondía temas subliminales, y si se escuchaba el coro al revés se podía oir "Es divertido tomar marihuana", una acusación que siempre fue negada por fuentes cercanas al grupo.
